1. Autumn Season (September - November)
Autumn Season is the best time for trekking in Nepal. During the autumn season, the sky is much clear to view the mountains, temperatures are moderate and excellent. Nepalese biggest festivals like Teej, Dashain, Tihar and Chhat falls during this time so you will have opportunity to explore the colorful festivals with the great joy and happiness.
2. Winter Season (December - February)
During this season, most of the travel and trekking agencies do not suggest for the high pass trekking where there is a high chances of heavy snowfall and the trekking trail is difficult. So, you can join the short and easy low altitude trekking trails below 3500 meters.
3. Spring Season (March - May)
Spring season is the second most popular and best season for trekking, tours and mountaineering as you are welcomed by the colorful flora on the trekking trails, specially blossoms of rhododendrons make the hillside colorful. At higher elevations, the temperature is moderate during this time so you will not have any difficulties during the trip.
4. Summer/Monsoon Season(June - August)
Summer or Monsoon season is basically the off-season for trekking and mountaineering but there are some trekking trips that lies in rain shadow areas which are the best during this season. These times are a blessing for the keen botanist or photographer as the higher valleys and meadows blossom with flowers and lush vegetation making this the perfect time to capture Nepal in all its beauty. It’s recommended to carry insect repellent when trekking during these summer months.
